
Lauren Teukolsky was born and raised in Ithaca, NY. She graduated
from Harvard College in 1997, and from UCLA School of Law in 2000.
At UCLA, Ms. Teukolsky was in the inaugural class of the Program
in Public Interest Law and Policy, a group of faculty and students
dedicated to accomplishing social change through the law.
Ms. Teukolsky was an Articles Editor for the UCLA Law Review,
was named a member of Order of the Coif, and won the law school's
Roscoe Pound Moot Court Competition in 1999.
After graduating from law school, Ms. Teukolsky clerked for the
Honorable Harry Pregerson on the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeal
(2000-01), and for the Honorable A. Howard Matz on the District
Court for the Central District of California (2001-02).
Since joining Hadsell Stormer Keeny Richardson & Renick as an
associate in October 2002, Ms. Teukolsky has worked on a wide range
of cases, including Bowoto v. Chevron and Doe v. Unocal, two high-profile
international human rights cases against multinational oil companies.
Ms. Teukolsky has worked on several class action lawsuits involving
jail conditions, consumer rights, and wage and hour violations.
Ms. Teukolsky has also successfully advocated on behalf of individual
employees in cases involving discrimination, sexual harassment,
retaliation and breach of contract.
From 2004 to 2008, Ms. Teukolsky was named a Southern California
Rising Star in the Southern California Super Lawyers Rising Star Edition.
Ms. Teukolsky is on the Board of the Eviction Defense Network, a
nonprofit organization dedicated to defending the right to
affordable housing and ensuring access to justice in housing
matters to tenants in Los Angeles County.
Along with her colleague Cornelia Dai, Ms. Teukolsky is the co-author
of "Employment Discrimination Law," Chapter 6 of the NLG Employee and
Union Member Guide to Labor Law, 2004 Update (chapter originally authored
by Hadsell & Stormer partner Anne Richardson). Ms. Teukolsky was admitted
to the California Bar in 2000, and is a member of the California Employment
Lawyers Association (CELA) and the National Lawyers Guild (NLG).
